Servicing
Over the years you may notice your timepiece running slow, or it may stop working completely. At this point it may be worth having your timepiece checked as it may be due a service. Using a timegrapher and testing the watches beat rate, we can tell the number of seconds your watch is running ahead or behind per day. If you're out by a lot you should consider a service.

Most Swiss manufactures recommend to get your watch serviced every five years, some say less, some say more. Generally it depends on how often you wear your timepiece. The more you wear it the better. Watch need to run to keep the parts moving and keep the oil moving around the watch the keep it lubricated. If the oil dries out it can cause parts to grind against each other & even cause rust. It's important to prevent that.

There are often over 200 parts to a luxury watch! The movement needs to be stripped completely. All parts need to be cleaned and specific parts need lubrication with specific oils. Just the right amount of oil needs to be used. Too much or too little can cause problems in future and may mean it needs a service prematurely.
